FAQ
Who is involved in Alann's Dream?
Alann's Dream was founded by Alann herself and Keir Overton of Dundas, Ontario, Canada. Read more about Alann and her story here.
With his partner, Jennifer, Keir spent 9 months travelling throughout the south pacific in 2011 and 2012. During their time in Cambodia, they had the privilege of meeting Alann as she guided them through the ruins of Angkor Wat and the province of Siem Reap. It was during this time, they learned about Alann's story and her dream to build a school in her village.
Where will my contribution go?
100% of the received funds will go towards the construction of the new school, estimated to cost $20,000 U.S. Should we be fortunate enough to exceed our goal of $20,000, any additional funds will go towards furnishing the school with desks, towards books for the library and future teaching salaries.
How can I be sure my money will be used to build a school in Cambodia?
Your donation will automatically add your name to our mailing list to receive our e-newsletter, detailing the progress of the fundraising campaign. Once construction begins on the school, we will share photos and updates from the construction site.
How will the money be distributed in Cambodia?
The school will be constructed in stages and funding will be designated for each stage. Once a construction stage is completed, more money will be released to commence the next phase of construction.
Who will build the school?
Alann and her father will oversee the construction of the school in their village, with assistance from local contractors and builders.
